When it comes to smaller, niche metal service centers such as ours, every customer and relationship is extremely valuable. We’re thankful anytime they’re willing to provide feedback or share their testimonial. Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with a Purchasing Manager from one of our long-term customers to learn what he appreciates most about working with Mead Metals.
ABOUT SONS METAL STAMPING
Sons Metal Stamping is a metal stamping company based out of Woodville, Wisconsin, and like us, they’ve been in the industry since the early 1960s. Sons Metal Stamping is dedicated to providing quality products and top-notch customer service. They are a manufacturer with a high level of metal consumption. As a well-known name in our industry, Sons is regularly pursued by other metal service centers. Still, they choose to work with Mead Metals.
Working with Mead Metals
I spoke with Daniel Baumann, Purchasing Manager at Sons Metal Stamping, and was excited to know about his experience working with us. Here are a few highlights from our chat.
A Small Company
“I appreciate that they are a small company whose owner is on location. That’s pretty unique in terms of the metal companies I work with. Plus, Mead has competitive pricing without being a huge corporation. That’s really something.”
Providing Fast Service
“They provide excellent, timely customer service. I hardly ever have to deal with waiting. They give out lead times just like everyone else in the industry, but Mead is never late. They’re really consistent with their lead times.”
Including Great Documentation
“Their material documentation is always good, easy to read, and easy to understand. All companies send them along with material orders, but Mead’s are super clear. The information is easily laid out.”
Expert, Helpful Staff
“Tony [the sales rep I work with] really helped me to understand the industry. He let me know what’s all needed for purchasing, what metallurgy terms I needed to know, what different materials are good for, etc. He was open about everything, even pointing me to other places to get materials from if it was better for me. He really helped me to be able to grow and excel in the industry as a buyer.”
Thank you, Daniel, for sharing your experiences with our blog readers and me. I look forward to continuing our relationship with Sons Metal Stamping long into the future.
