As an industry-leading metal supplier, maintaining adequate inventory is an essential component of meeting the needs of our customers. It is our coil and sheet metal inventory that allows us to maintain efficient turn times and provide our customers with accurate lead times.
Mead Metals’ Inventory
Here’s a look at the different metals making up our inventory.
A109 Cold Rolled Strip Steel
This alloy is ideal for applications where appearance and surface uniformity are important. Our A109 cold rolled strip steel is available in gauges from 0.005 – 0.1345 in tempers ranging from 1 (full hard) – 5 (dead soft). View our A109 stock items here.
Annealed Spring Steel
Known as a “general use” steel variety, we carry AISI 1050, 1074, 1075, and 1095 annealed spring steel. Available in thicknesses from 0.010 – 0.187. View our stock items here.
Beryllium copper’s ductility means it can be stamped into complex shapes with tight tolerances. Our BeCu is high-quality and available in annealed, quarter hard, and half hard tempers. On a limited basis, we also stock full hard and mill hardened tempers. View our BeCu stock items here.
We stock alloy 260, 70/30 composition brass, which is the most ductile of the yellow brasses. This, combined with its corrosion resistance, makes brass a popular choice. We inventory brass sheet and coil in thicknesses from 0.005 – 0.187. View our brass stock items here.
Cold Rolled 1008/1010 Steel
Cold rolled carbon steel is used in a wide range of applications, from furniture and home appliances to automotive body parts. The cold rolled 1008/1010 we stock is remarkably consistent over time. We carry ASTM A1008 standard, CS Type B. Also, our cold rolled steel can also be applied within the ASTM A109 spec. View our cold rolled stock items here.
Known for outstanding thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance, copper is a highly-valued alloy. We primarily carry a 110 Copper alloy. By offering copper in a range of sizes and tempers, we’re able to meet a wide range of customer needs. View our copper stock items here.
As a strong and resilient alloy, phosphor bronze is used in the manufacturing of high-quality springs, bolts, and other common wear items. Similarly hailed for its electrical conductivity, phos bronze is uniquely suited for a wide range of uses. We primarily carry 510 alloy. View our phosphor bronze stock items here.
Stainless steel is useful in a wide range of industries for various types of applications. We stock 301, 302, and 304 stainless steel. View our 301 stainless steel stock items and 302/304 stainless steel stock items.
Tempered Spring Steel
As an alloy with very high yield strength, objects made from spring steel are able to return to their original shape even after significant bending and twisting. We carry tempered spring steel in multiple grades and quantities, including blue tempered spring steel in alloys 1075 and 1095. View our tempered spring steel stock items here.
Working with Mead Metals
When you work with Mead Metals, we do our very best to help you get the right materials for your application. We do source materials outside of our regular stock items, so always feel free to ask for a material type that’s not listed on our website.
We provide materials in a wide range of quantities. We’re willing and able to fill orders of just a few pounds – and we do it without charging exorbitant lot charges. We also fill large orders for our customers. Finally, we offer a range of machining services so that your material can arrive at your facility slit, cut-to-length, de-cambered, sheared, or otherwise machined to meet your needs.
